This sample menu was taken from "Caring for Your Baby and Young Child" from the AAP (page 240 for those of you who have it).

Breakfast

·        1/4 to 1/2 cup cereal

·        1/4 to 1/2 cup diced fruit

·        4-6 ounces of formula or breastmilk

Snack

·        1/2 cup apple juice

·        1/4 cup diced cheese or cooked vegetables

Lunch

·        1/4 cup yogurt or cottage cheese

·        1/4 - 1/2 cup of vegetables

·        4-6 ounces of breastmilk or formula

Snack

·        1/2 cup apple juice

·        1 teething biscuit or cracker

·        1/4 cup diced cheese or meat

Dinner

·        1/4 cup diced poultry, meat or tofu

·        1/4-1/2 cup vegetables

·        1/4 cup noodles, pasta, rice or potato

·        1/4 cup fruit

·        4-6 ounces of breastmilk or formula

Before Bedtime

·        6-8 ounces of formula or breastmilk or water
